Young ties club mark for triples

KANSAS CITY -- Rangers third baseman Michael Young tied a club record for most career triples in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Young drove home Elvis Andrus with a triple to right-center off of Royals starter Luke Hochevar. It was the 44th triple of his career, tying him with Ruben Sierra for the most ever in Rangers history.

Texas had also gone 24 games without a triple. This one extended Young's hitting streak to 12 games and he has reached base safely at least once in 22 consecutive games.
