ARLINGTON -- Rangers relief pitcher Pedro Strop was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday after being recalled on Tuesday. Strop had made one appearance for the Rangers after being called up when pitcher Derek Holland left in the second inning against Minnesota with mild inflammation in his left rotator cuff on Sunday. Taking his place on the roster is recently recalled Tommy Hunter, who got the start for the Rangers on Saturday against the Rays.
It was Strop's second appearance with the Rangers this season. He pitched one inning of scoreless relief with a strikeout in the Rangers' 9-5 win over Chicago on Wednesday. In 17 relief appearances for Oklahoma City, he is 0-1 with five saves and a 1.74 ERA.
