ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have signed second-round Draft pick Cody Buckel.

Buckel, a right-handed pitcher from Royal High School in Simi Valley, Calif., signed Tuesday and was at the Ballpark in Arlington before the Rangers' game against the Athletics.

Buckel, who inked a signing bonus for $590,000, went 12-1 his senior year with a 0.61 ERA. In 80 innings pitched, he struck out 123 batters while walking 17.

With the signing, the Rangers have now signed 31 of their 53 Draft picks. The highest remaining pick the Rangers have yet to sign is right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson, who Texas took with one of its sandwich-round picks.
