Hamilton sits finale, may get shot in knee

ANAHEIM -- Josh Hamilton was out of the lineup for a second straight day with patella tendinitis in his right knee. Hamilton is hoping to get a cortisone shot to help relieve the inflammation. Hamilton had a shot earlier in the season and he is hoping a second shot will carry him through October.

"If I don't do something about it, it's going to linger," Hamilton said. "The plan for it is what I did three months ago. I got a shot and that took care of it for 2 1/2 to three months. That's about what we've got left in the season, including the playoffs."

Hamilton, who is available as a pinch-hitter, is hoping to be back in the lineup on Tuesday against the Mariners.
