Rangers on the mound: John Wasdin, trying to win a spot in the bullpen as a long reliever, started in place of Kameron Loe. He allowed one run in the first three innings, then the Angels got to him and Jon Leicester for five runs in the fourth inning.

Cactus League records: Angels, 12-6; Rangers, 8-9.

Up next: Edinson Volquez and Juan Dominguez pitch against the Milwaukee Brewers at 2:05 p.m. CT on Wednesday in Maryvale. Both are competing for the fifth spot in the rotation. Tomo Ohka pitches for the Brewers.
