Marlins at the plate: Miguel Cabrera hit a grand slam in the third inning, his third home run of the spring. Shortstop Hanley Ramirez had a fifth-inning double but was thrown out trying to steal third base.

Rangers at the plate: Brad Wilkerson hit two home runs in his first two at-bats at Ameriquest Field. Mark Teixeira hit a two-run home run in the first inning and finished the spring with a home run in four straight games. Mark DeRosa also had a two-run home run.

Marlins on the mound: Starter Jason Vargas allowed six runs in four innings. He gave up four home runs in the first 10 batters he faced. He then retired eight of the next 11 hitters he faced, allowing just two walks and an error. Todd Wellemeyer pitched his second scoreless inning since being acquired from the Cubs.

Rangers on the mound: Starter R.A. Dickey allowed four runs in four innings, giving up the grand slam to Cabrera. The Rangers turned two double plays behind him.

Spring Training records: Marlins 19-9; Rangers 12-16.

Up next: The Rangers have a workout Sunday morning at Ameriquest Field in Arlington in preparation for the season opener on Monday against the Boston Red Sox. The Marlins work out at 5 p.m. CT Sunday at Minute Maid Park before opening Monday against the Houston Astros.
