ARLINGTON -- David Murphy was back in left field and Bengie Molina was behind the plate for Game 4 for the Rangers with Rays right-hander Wade Davis on the mound.
Murphy, who had been dealing with a strained left groin muscle, was 1-for-3 in Game 3, the first time he has played since Sept. 29. With the Rangers leading, 2-1, Murphy was replaced on defense late in the game by Julio Borbon.
"Murphy is good," Washington said. "He came out of that game feeling good with no problems. I just wanted to make sure I had young legs out there late."
As far as Murphy for Sunday, Washington said, "I just think I want to get as much offense in there as I possibly can."
Molina is starting for the third time in four games. Matt Treanor started in Game 2 and Molina caught Game 3.
"Molina got a good look at them yesterday," Washington said. "My gut tells me Molina is the guy. He got a good look at them and he's a big-time catcher."
