RANGERS 8, ROCKIES 2
at Tucson, Ariz.
Monday, March 5

Rangers at the plate: Former Rockie Miguel Ojeda hit his first spring home run deep to center field for a two-run shot in the fourth, expanding the Rangers' lead over the Rockies to 5-0. Ian Kinsler and Jerry Hairston Jr. each went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Hairston added two stolen bases.

Rockies at the plate: Todd Helton was 2-for-3 with an RBI in his first game back since missing a scheduled start Saturday with an inflamed right knee. Javy Lopez had the Rockies' lone extra-base hit, a sixth-inning leadoff double.

Rangers on the mound: Robinson Tejeda threw two innings of shutout ball against the Rockies, giving up a pair of two-out singles in the first but escaping the inning without incident. Josh Rupe kept the scoreless streak going for Texas, blanking the Rockies in the third and fourth, letting up two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Rockies on the mound: Ubaldo Jimenez pitched three innings in his second spring start, yielding three runs on four hits while striking out three. All of the damage against Jimenez came in the third inning, when his fastballs rose high in the zone, allowing the Rangers to tee off with two singles and two doubles.

Cactus League records: Rangers, 2-2; Rockies, 3-2

Up next: The Rangers return home Tuesday with Jamey Wright facing Seattle's Horacio Ramirez. Rodrigo Lopez takes the mound for the Rockies on Tuesday against Javier Vazquez and the Chicago White Sox in a game at Tucson Electric Park.
