Rangers get mixed news on rehabbing pitchers

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers were the bearers of some good and bad news Monday on the pitching rehab front.

The positive: right-hander Brandon Webb threw a bullpen session in Surprise, Ariz., and reports back were good. Webb will pitch in an extended spring training game on Thursday.

The negative: Tommy Hunter's day did not go as well. Hunter, who has been out since Spring Training, pitched into the seventh inning for Triple-A Round Rock. On his 79th pitch, he tweaked the right groin strain he's been rehabbing. Dr. Keith Meister localized soreness in Hunter's groin, and he will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

Scott Feldman worked 4 1/3 innings Monday without issue, allowing five runs on seven hits in extended spring training in Surprise, Ariz. Feldman will throw a bullpen session in Arlington in a few days and then likely go out on a rehab assignment, team officials said.
