Texas manager Ron Washington said Frank Catalanotto, who has been limited to being a designated hitter since being activated May 21, might be playing in the outfield Sunday. Catalanotto missed 19 games with right biceps tendinitis.
Sammy Sosa has played right field the first two games of the series, although he struggled Friday night in the field.
"Our confidence in Sammy will never be shaken," Washington said. "He's a professional."
Sosa is two homers shy of 600 for his career.
TEX: RHP Kameron Loe (1-4, 6.38 ERA)
Loe is 0-4 with a 7.60 ERA in his last six starts. His last victory came in his first start of the season on April 21 against the Oakland Athletics. He is 1-3 with a 5.67 ERA in eight games, including five starts, at home. Opponents are hitting .410 off him with runners in scoring position. He is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in five games, including two starts, in his career against the Red Sox.
BOS: RHP Julian Tavarez (3-4, 5.27 ERA)
Tavarez has settled into a groove in recent weeks. He is 2-0 in his last two starts, giving up just three runs over 12 and 2/3 innings. Tavarez beat the Yankees in his last outing, holding them to three hits and two runs over 5 2/3 innings. Tavarez will try to erase the bad memories of his April 7 start at Texas when he allowed six hits and four runs over four innings and walked five.

Mark Teixeira is hitting .403 with five home runs and 14 RBIs in day games. He is 1-for-2 in his career against Tavarez.
