Worth noting:
Right-handed pitcher Jerad Eickhoff, the club's 15th-round selection in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Olney (Ill.) Central College, has agreed to terms. Eickhoff was 10-4 with a 1.90 ERA as a sophomore for the Blue Knights, earning Great Rivers Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors. Darren O'Day, who has been sidelined for two months with a torn labrum in his left hip, pitched a scoreless inning for Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday. His next outing is scheduled for Saturday with Round Rock. Tommy Hunter, on the disabled list since the end of Spring Training with a strained right groin, will make a spot start on Friday for Round Rock. He is scheduled for three to four innings, but the plan is still to see how he does as a reliever.
