Opener in Baltimore postponed

BALTIMORE -- The Rangers' opening game against the Orioles was postponed due to heavy rain at Camden Yards on Monday and will be made up on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.

The game will begin at 4:05 p.m. CT and the regularly scheduled matchup will follow.

Vicente Padilla (3-8, 6.30 ERA) was scheduled to start on Monday, but he will instead face Baltimore's dominant lefty Erik Bedard (12-4, 2.98) on Tuesday to open the series.

Lefty Kason Gabbard (5-1, 3.56) will pitch against Daniel Cabrera (9-12, 4.93) in the day game Wednesday, and John Rheinecker (1-1, 5.82) will take the mound opposite youngster Garrett Olson (1-2, 6.38) in the night affair.

Texas has now had four games rained out this year, and is 1-1 in the two games that have already been rescheduled and played.
