ANAHEIM -- Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz was back in the lineup on Tuesday, one day after being lifted from the game in the seventh inning with tightness in his left quad. Cruz reported to the ballpark on Tuesday experiencing no issues.

"He's fine ... we're hoping it was just a false alarm," manager Ron Washington said.

But Washington was glad that Cruz was willing to speak up rather than take any chances. He makes that clear to his team in his opening address during Spring Training.

"Don't put your team in jeopardy and don't put yourself in jeopardy," Washington said. "I'm hoping they know they can be honest. You definitely can't help the club if you are in the tub."
