ARLINGTON -- The Rangers returned home Monday to the 100-degree heat to play for the 11th straight day while the Angels were off on Monday. The Angels are also off on Thursday before opening a three-game series with the Rangers on Friday. Rangers manager Ron Washington said there is no use complaining about the schedule. "Every time I call the league office, I get a machine and nobody calls back," Washington said.
"We'll have two more days off before the end of the season than they do," general manager Jon Daniels said. Washington said he would like to get both third baseman Michael Young and second baseman Ian Kinsler a day off at some point on this homestand. But it probably won't be during the three-game series against the second-place Angels.
