ST. LOUIS -- Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre on Thursday was named to the Sporting News American League All-Star team. Beltre was the only Rangers player named to the annual team.
Beltre hit .296 with 32 home runs and 105 RBIs in 124 games while missing over a month in the second half of the season with a strained left hamstring. His .561 slugging percentage ranked third in the American League and he was sixth in RBIs. He was also selected to play in the All-Star Game for the second straight year.
The Sporting News All-Star teams were selected in a vote of 55 Major League front-office officials, 26 from the American League and 29 from the National League.
