## Kinsler still not sure of return this year

ARLINGTON -- Ian Kinsler pushed himself in a pregame workout Tuesday evening and reported some improvement. But he is still unsure if he'll be able to play again this season.

Kinsler is sidelined with a hernia and is expected to meet with a doctor on Wednesday to gauge his progress.

"I feel like I'm close. The question is if I'm going to get better," Kinsler said. "I can't play at this level right now. It's got to get better. The question is if I get in there, will I hurt it again. I'll see the doctor and go from there."

Kinsler took batting practice Tuesday, ground balls at second base and some sprints along first-base line. He took ground balls ranging from side to side but not at full speed.

"I've got to get myself to the point where I trust myself when I break hard after something," Kinsler said. "Going from second to home or going first to third. That will tell me if I can play. I could hobble around out there for another month, but I'm not sure it's going to do me any good."

With Kinsler out, Joaquin Arias has been starting at second base for the Rangers. German Duran was called up Monday, but manager Ron Washington said Arias will still get the majority of the playing time.
