ARLINGTON -- Rangers pitchers Alexi Ogando and Neftali Feliz are scheduled to throw in the bullpen on Saturday, and both are getting close to being sent out on a rehab assignment. Ogando is probably closer than Feliz. Ogando is scheduled to throw in the bullpen on Saturday and again on Monday during the All-Star break. If both of those sessions go well, he could be sent out on a rehab assignment as early as Thursday against Triple-A Round Rock. He has been on the disabled list since June 10, when he strained his right groin running the bases against the Giants in San Francisco.
"I'm feeling good ... maybe 90 percent," Ogando said. Feliz has been sidelined since May 19 with a sprained right elbow. He is also scheduled to throw on Saturday and Monday, but the Rangers want to re-evaluate him after that before they decide on the next course of action. Koji Uehara (strained lat muscle) threw in the bullpen without problem on Friday, but the Rangers have not decided when he'll be ready for a rehab assignment. Mark Lowe (strained intercostal muscle) is not expected to resume throwing until after the All-Star break.
