Oakland, CA—The Texas Rangers today announced that RHP Colby Lewis has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and will start Wednesday’s game in Oakland.
To make room for Lewis on the active roster, LHP Martin Perez has been optioned to Round Rock (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.
Lewis was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 26, retroactive to June 24 with a right forearm tendinitis. His last action was a start on June 23 versus Colorado, an 11-7 loss (4.0 IP, 12 H, 8 R, 7 ER, 6 SO). The right-hander is 6-6 with a 3.51 ERA in 15 starts for the Rangers this season.
Perez was recalled from Round Rock on June 26 and was 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA in 4 games/2 starts with Texas in his first major league action.
