"I don't have any say-so," Oswalt said. "If they trade me, I would have to go. I'm just going to do what they tell me to do."
Players must be acquired by 11 p.m. CT on Friday to be eligible for the postseason. The Rangers signed Oswalt earlier this summer as a starting pitcher but he has since been moved to the bullpen. He has made it clear that he wants to be a starter and is not particularly happy about his present situation. Scott Feldman bumped Oswalt from the rotation.Right now, the Rangers "don't know" if they will be able to move Oswalt, but there is a chance. The Rangers are also looking for utility infield help but would likely want more than that for Oswalt. Oswalt is 4-2 with a 5.94 ERA in eight starts and three relief appearances since signing with the Rangers at the end of May. He allowed four earned runs in 10 innings in two spot starts recently before going back into the bullpen.
