ARLINGTON -- Double-A Frisco's Barret Loux has been named the Pitcher of the Year of the Texas League. He received the honor after going 14-1 with a 3.50 ERA in 24 starts. Loux began the season by winning 10 straight games and was one of the starters in the Texas League All-Star Game. The sixth overall pick by Arizona in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft, he was signed by the Rangers as a free agent after his deal with the D-backs fell through. Loux is the second Frisco pitcher to be named Texas League Pitcher of the Year, following Blake Beavan, who was honored in 2010. Loux also joined outfielder Engel Beltre, infielder Jurickson Profar and third baseman Mike Olt in the Texas League Postseason All-Star Game.
