Rangers announce 2013 Major League coaching staff

Five of the six coaches on manager Ron Washington’s major league staff will return for the 2013 season. It was previously announced that Dave Magadan has been hired as the team’s hitting coach. The only other change in the staff will be a realignment of the first and third base coaching positions. Gary Pettis, who has coached first base while also handling base-running and outfield defense since joining the staff in 2007, will move to the third base coaching box. Dave Anderson moves to first base after four seasons at third base and will continue as the infield coach. Bench coach Jackie Moore, pitching coach Mike Maddux, and bullpen coach Andy Hawkins all return for their fifth seasons on the staff.
