Arlington, TX—The Texas Rangers and gloops, Inc. have entered into a sponsorship partnership for the second consecutive year, it was announced today.
Under the partnership, gloops will have signage at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington and on the practice fields of Texas' major league spring training complex in Surprise, Arizona and will have exclusive signage on the team's media backdrop that is utilized for all interviews with pitcher Yu Darvish and other Rangers executives, players and coaches.
It is also expected that gloops will be involved in a community initiative again this year. In August 2012, gloops joined with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Yu Darvish to assist with the funding to allow a 16-member youth baseball team from the Japan city of Ishinomaki to travel to Texas for the 2012 Japan-America Grassroots Summit as part of the TOMODACHI Initiative. The Ishinomaki team participated in a variety of other educational activities and played several games against Jr. RBI teams from Arlington and Dallas during their week-long stay in North Texas.
Led by the U.S.-Japan Council with support from the U.S. and Japanese Governments, the TOMODACHI initiative is a public-private partnership that support's Japan's recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 2011 and invests in the next generation of Japanese and Americans in ways that strengthen cultural and economic ties.
