In addition, the Rangers today recalled right-handed pitcher Justin Miller from Double-A Frisco of the Texas League and placed him on the 60-day disabled list.
Grimm defeated Omaha on April 5 in his only appearance for Round Rock this season (5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R-ER, 2 BB, 4 SO). He pitched in 4 "A" games/1 start for the Texas this spring (9.1 IP, 15 H, 10 R-ER, 6 BB, 9 SO). In 2012, he was 9-3, 1.72 in 16 games/14 starts at Frisco and 2-3, 4.59 in 9 games/8 starts at Round Rock. The right-hander also made his major league debut with Texas, going 1-1, 9.00 in 5 games/2 starts over two stints with the club.
Harrison has lost both of his starts in 2012 with an 8.44 ERA (10.2 IP, 14 H, 11 R, 10 ER, 7 BB, 12 SO). After losing to the Los Angeles Angels on April 6, he underwent an MRI, which revealed the inflamed nerve. Harrison had an epidural injection in his lower back and did not make the roadtrip while continuing to receive treatment.
Miller was on the disabled list at Frisco while he continues his rehab from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in April 2012. He has not pitched in a game since 2011.
