Rangers Decline 2014 Club Option on Lance Berkman


Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced today that the team has declined a 2014 club option to retain designated hitter/first baseman Lance Berkman. Berkman is now a free agent.

Berkman, 37, batted .242 with 6 home runs and 34 RBI over 73 games with Texas in 2013, his only season with the Rangers.
