Unfortunately, the young fan in question may not be old enough to qualify for a big league contract.
He did, however, provide some video-board highlights for the more than 27,000 Rangers fans in attendance to watch their team edge visiting Boston, 4-3, on Sunday.
In the fifth inning with two out, outfielder Josh Hamilton was at the plate facing Red Sox rookie Junichi Tazawa. Hamilton hit a looping foul ball toward left field which was nabbed on the fly by a young man identified by Fox Sports Network as C.J. from Cedar Hills.
Nice souvenir, right?
But just a few pitches later, Hamilton hit another foul ball to the same spot and once again C.J. neatly caught it.
"That's why you bring your glove to the ballpark," quipped Rangers broadcaster Tom Grieve.
For his efforts, C.J. was awarded a tote bag as Progressive's Fan of the Game. Odds are the two foul balls off the bat of All-Star Hamilton may hold a more special place in his souvenir stash.
