Geovany Soto caught four innings on Thursday in his first start of the Cactus League after having surgery on Feb. 22 to have a bone removed from his left ankle. He did not catch Friday but got nine at-bats in the Minor League games on the back fields. He went from one field to another, getting at-bats whenever an opportunity presented itself. He had a double and a home run.
"It was good, my legs felt great, everything felt great," Soto said. "Now it's getting my timing down and getting into baseball shape and getting the endurance back in my legs. It didn't hurt one bit. It wasn't sore one bit."
Soto is expected to go five innings behind the plate on Saturday against the Athletics.
