Yu Darvish and Geovany Soto updates

Pitcher Yu Darvish, who was scratched from his scheduled opening day start on Tuesday due to neck stiffness, was examined today in Texas by Dr. Drew Dossett. An MRI and Dr. Dossett's evaluation indicated that there are no structural issues and no injection was required. Darvish is expected to resume a throwing program in the next few days. It is unknown when he will be ready to pitch.

Catcher Geovany Soto had arthroscopic surgery today at Medical Center Arlington to repair torn lateral meniscus cartilage in his right knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Keith Meister and went as expected. Soto is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 12 weeks.
