ARLINGTON -- A week after being moved down to the ninth spot in the lineup, Elvis Andrus looks very comfortable batting second again.

Andrus hit ninth in last Sunday's win over the Dodgers and did not return to the second spot in the lineup until Friday's win over the Red Sox. In two games since returning to hitting second, which he's done in 32 of 37 games this year, Andrus is 6-for-9 with three runs, two doubles and one RBI.

"I feel a lot better right now," Andrus said. "It doesn't really matter for me. At any spot in the lineup, you're still going to have an opportunity and you're still going to have to execute."

Andrus took a seven-game hit streak into Sunday's game against the Red Sox and his batting average is up to .255 -- 28 points higher than it was before he started hitting second again. He had multiple hits in both games since after having no multi-hit efforts in the 21 previous contests.

"I'm happy to see him starting to get back to Elvis," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "When I took him out of the second hole and at the bottom of the lineup, he took a deep breath. He was really rigid. When I put him down there, he loosened up."
