Rangers transfer RHP Tanner Scheppers to Double-A Frisco

The Texas Rangers announced today that right-handed pitcher Tanner Scheppers has been transferred from Triple-A Round Rock to Double-A Frisco as he continues an injury rehabilitation assignment. Outfielder Jim Adduci has been assigned to Double-A Frisco to begin his injury rehabilitation assignment tonight.

Both players are scheduled to appear for the RoughRiders in tonight's 7:05 p.m. CDT homestand opener against San Antonio.

Scheppers was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 18 with right elbow inflammation. The club's Opening Day starter, he went 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA (20 ER/18.1 IP) in 4 games/starts for Texas before the current stint on the disabled list. Scheppers, who is working to return to the Rangers as a reliever, has allowed 6 runs (5 earned) over 4.2 innings spanning 4 games/2 starts on rehab with Frisco and Round Rock. He last appeared for Round Rock on Saturday vs. Omaha (1.2 IP, 1 R-ER).

Adduci was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 19 with a fractured left little finger, an injury suffered during the previous night's game against the Chicago White Sox while sliding head-first into second base on a tag-up play. Adduci has a .462 (6-13) average in 9 games with Texas this season.
