ARLINGTON -- Pitchers Luke Jackson and Phil Klein, as well as first baseman Ryan Rua and infielder Jake Smolinski, have all been promoted from Double-A Frisco to Triple-A Round Rock, the Rangers announced Wednesday.

Outfielder Ryan Strausborger will move from Round Rock to Frisco, and right-handed pitcher Daniel McCutchen has been released from Round Rock. Pitcher Scott Richmond has been placed on the disabled list in the seven-transaction move.

Jackson, a right-handed pitcher, was the Rangers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2013 and went 8-2 with a 3.02 ERA in 14 starts with Frisco. He is MLB.com's No. 5 Rangers prospect and has earned Texas League Mid-Season All-Star honors along with Klein, who had a team-high 10 saves, to go along with his 0.81 ERA.

Rua had 32 home runs in 2013, good for fifth best in the Minors while Smolinski, an eight-year player, batted .267 with 10 home runs through the first half of the season.
