Soria had a 2.76 ERA and 16 saves going into Friday's game and the Rangers have a $7 million option for him next season. There are other closers who could be traded, including Huston Street of the Padres and Jonathan Papelbon of the Phillies.

The Rangers are also getting some interest in right-handed setup reliever Jason Frasor and left-hander Neal Cotts. Both said they are not thinking too much about the possibility.

"Not much," Frasor said. "If it wasn't for the security guard and my cousin, I wouldn't hear much about it at all. I don't think about it much and when I step on the mound, I don't think about it at all … but if it happened, that would be all right too."

Said Cotts, "I don't think about it all. I'm just trying to do my job and help us play better baseball."
