NEW YORK -- Alex Rios was back in the lineup on Wednesday after missing three games with a sprained right ankle. He immediately tested the ankle in the first inning, and ended up provoking a replay review.

Rios singled with two outs off Yankees starter David Phelps. On a 1-2 pitch to Adrian Beltre, Rios tried to steal second. Catcher Francisco Cervelli's throw was high but second baseman Brendan Ryan was able to make a sweep tag and clipped Rios on the back before he slid into the bag.

Manager Ron Washington challenged the call, but the call on the field was confirmed by replay. Washington is now 13-for-22 on replay challenges.
