Rangers executive Miller takes Triple-A position

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers are losing an important member of their front office.

Jay Miller, who is the Rangers Vice President for Enterprises, Customer Service and Sales, is returning to the Triple-A Round Rock Express to serve as club president. Miller was hired away from Round Rock four years ago.

Miller is replacing Dave Fendrick, who is retiring after 15 years with Round Rock and 39 years in professional baseball. Fendrick and Miller worked with the Rangers from 1983-95. Along with Chuck Morgan, they were part of a group of front-office employees brought in to help reinforce the Rangers as a legitimate Major League organization at a time when the franchise was struggling.

They both also played a significant role in helping Ryan-Sanders baseball turn the Round Rock Express into one of the top Minor League franchises in the game.
