ARLINGTON -- Pitcher Brandon McCarthy has been placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Oklahoma City with a possible stress fracture in his right shoulder blade. It is believed to be a similar injury to what put McCarthy on the disabled list with the Rangers in both 2007 and last season.
McCarthy has been examined by Dr. Keith Meister and the Rangers do not believe the injury is as serious as in previous years. From the results of the MRI, the Rangers consider this to be "mild" and they are hoping he only misses just one turn in the rotation. He is 1-0 with a 2.51 ERA in four starts for the RedHawks.
