Washington keeps options open for closer

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers' closer situation is fluid 20 games into the season.

Neftali Feliz, the current closer in name, blew his first save Friday and gave up back-to-back home runs in Monday's 6-4 loss in extra innings to Detroit. Frank Francisco, the ex-closer, got three outs Tuesday night for the save in a 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Even left-hander Darren Oliver was in line to pitch in a save situation Wednesday night.

"Depends on where we are in the lineup," manager Ron Washington said.

Washington said Feliz was available Wednesday after pitching in back-to-back games for the first time in his Major League career on Sunday and Monday.

Francisco has pitched an inning each of the past two games but was available.
