Last name is pronounced: HOSS-child... Pitched at Beavercreek (OH) High School (graduated 2008) and was a Mizuno all-Ohio first team selection as a senior... Went on to attend the University of Dayton and pitched four seasons for the Flyers, posting a 23-20 career record…went 7-3 in his senior season in 2012, setting a school record for innings (120.1) and recording the second most strikeouts in club history (92)…the summer after his sophomore year (2010), was selected as the New England College Summer Baseball League Pitcher of the Year, while pitching for Danbury... Selected by Houston after his senior season in the 33rd round of the June 2012 draft... signed by Astros scout Nick Venuto... Is signed to a minor league contract for the 2018 season...invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 25, 2018...this marks his second time in Major League Spring Training, but his first with the Astros...spent Spring Training with the Rangers in 2017 as a Rule 5 draft pick.

2017
