FIRST YEAR IN THE MAJORS: Marin is in his first season as bullpen coach after being hired on December 4, 2018…returns to the Texas organization after two seasons (2017-18) as minor league pitching coordinator in the Seattle Mariners system…marks his first coaching position at the big league level. 

TEXAS HISTORY: Prior to his two-year stint as Mariners minor league pitching coordinator (2017-18), Marin spent over six years as an instructor in the Texas farm system from 2010- 16…served as pitching coach at High-A High Desert (2016), Low-A Hickory (2014-15), Rookie Spokane (2013), and with the Arizona League Rangers (2010-12) after joining the organization in mid-2010…he also spent the 2012 offseason as a pitching coach for Ponce in the Puerto Rican Winter League…in 2015, he captured South Atlantic League Coach of the Year honors with Hickory, when he led a talented Crawdads pitching staff to the 2nd-lowest ERA (3.19) in the South Atlantic League…staff that year included Nick Gardewine, Ariel Jurado, Yohander Mendez, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Jeffrey Springs. 

MORE COACHING HISTORY: Before joining the Rangers in 2010, he served as pitching coach and pitching coordinator for Harvard-Westlake preparatory school in North Hollywood, Calif. from 2008-09…Marin's coaching career began at Los Angeles Valley College, overseeing the Monarchs pitching staff in 2006-07…served as a fifth-year assistant with the baseball program at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock at the end of his playing career in 2005. 

AMATEUR: After graduating from Chatsworth (CA) High School, he pitched for at Los Angeles Valley College from 2001- 02, where he was named to the Western State Conference All- Star team in his second season…also pitched for two seasons at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock in 2003-04.
